Carter Ranch Cook Book

We have had an expressed interest in a community cook book. We have contacted a company to publish our Carter Ranch Cook Book and are now on the prowl for recipes. We need at least 200 recipes for the cook book to be economical. We are hoping to have the recipes by the end of the year and then be able to send all our information into our publishing company for the books to be available for purchase in the late spring. The price of the books will be approximately $8.00.

If you have a recipe you'd like to share, please email us at candsthompson@gmail.com. Again, we need at least 200 recipes to proceed.

Don't forget to include your name for credit.

Chili Cook-off

On November 15th, we will be holding the First Annual Chili Cook-off. We will meet at the pavilion at 3pm to try all the different chili recipes from the community. Bring your best effort to win one of the three trophies (first, second and third place). We will also provide cups and spoons for all to try a bit of each one along with water to cool those toasty taste buds!

Come, bring the entire family! If you have any questions, call Chrystalee at 214-774-2165 or email her at candsthompson@gmail.com.

Fall Festival - October 30th 5:30 - 7:30

The Fall Festival looks to be full of family fun and excitement! We want each of our community residents to spend an evening celebrating the changing season.

Join us in the "Hot Dog Slide", "Bean Bag Toss", "Bobbing for Apples", "Limbo Contest", "Cake Walk", "Fishing Pond", "Pumpkin Contest", "Pie Eating Contest" and "Costume Contest".

We will be providing Apple Cider and Homemade Rootbeer for refreshment.

* Bring your family pumpkin to be judged at 7:15. Three awards will be given. One for the most elaborate, one for the scariest and one for the best sense of humor.

* There will be 12 different cakes and pies to win at the "Cake Walk" area. A new cake walk will take place every 10 minutes.

* Demonstrate your flexibility in one of our 3 "Limbo Contests". Awards will be given to each of the three winners.

* Show off your Halloween costumes in the "Costume Contest". We will have awards for each age group winner.

* Let's see those stomach muscles flex in the "Pie Eating Contest". We will have 4 groups of five pie eaters. The fastest person to finish the whole pie in each group will get an award. Due to the limited space (20 spots) please leave a comment at the bottom of the following post with your name and address to fill one of the spots.
